Things that could be converted to SVG: Ocean zones labels: - horizontally: - [[Supralittoral zone]] - [[intertidal zone]] - neritic zone - veritcally: - [[Euphotic zone]] - [[Mesopelagic zone]] - [[Bathyal zone]] http://mbgnet.info/salt/oceans/pict/zones2.gif http://www.aquatic.uoguelph.ca/oceans/Introduction/Zonation/zonation.htm [[Image:Continental shelf.png]] [[Image:Map Canada political.png]], based on [[Image:Canadian postal district map.svg]] see c:\temp\Map_Canada_political.svg for my work so far - but is there a way to make part of a poly's path one color, and the rest of its path a different color? Does my mind deceive me, or have I seen this been done in an SVG before? - ahh, perhaps "cloned" objects can allow it? "cloning" is Inkscape's way of expressing the underlying way SVG can use and links to display the same path multiple times in the same document. http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Attributes-Stroke.html#Attributes-Stroke-Complex http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Clones.html - why can't we independently change the color of the clone? http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Tiles-Color.html implies we can, but I can't get it to work - OOOOH, you can.... it's just that the base "cloned" object has to be set to "?"/undef... and then any clones of it can have a separate unique color... so if you want two separate colors, you actually have to have three different shapes (granted, one can be hidden behind the others...) actually, [[Image:Canada (geolocalisation).svg]] is a better image to start with [[Image:Angel problem.png]] [[Image:Mississippi Yazoo Delta.jpg]] -- really should be something more like http://www.npr.org/programs/atc/features/2005/jun/delta/mississippi_delta.jpg noting the location of Memphis, Vicksburg, the Mississippi and the Yazoo everything on [[Finite state machine]] everything on [[Split (ten pin bowling)]]
