• variations
    • much larger wheel — increases drive ratio (-acceleration, +top speed), height is limited by the rider's leg length
    • giraffe — add a chain = can be arbitrarily tall (typically 5-8 feet, but a few are much taller)
    • ultimate wheel — remove the seat = difficult to maintain side-to-side stability
    • impossible wheel — remove the crank arms = no way to speed up or slow down
    • multi-wheel unicycle — equivalent to a giraffe, though an even number of wheels cancels out the gyroscope effect
    • crab unicycle (skip to 2:15) — giraffe with a (90 degree) twist
    • walking unicycle — replace wheel with mechanical feet. I've only seen offhand references to it, no idea if it's real or widespread. [1] (skip to 1:00)
    • swing bike
    • separate halves bike
    • miniature unicycle
    • gag bike
